Can you give some advice as to why this doesn’t seem to work for Release Pipelines?

This doesnt work on Release Pipeline because there is separate set of APIs in release pipeline which need to be used to render the reports. This extension currently only uses APIs of build pipeline and hence it can be used in build pipelines only.
